HopeNow has won European Crime Prevention Award 2014 at an international conference by the European Crime Prevention Network (EUCPN). The theme for this year’s price is prevention of human trafficking. HopeNow has been nominated by the Danish Crime Prevention Counsil.

HopeNow was selected between 21 european projects, for the best preventive work against human trafficking in Europe.

Human trafficking is directed towards vulnerable women, men and children, who are exploited in forced labour, prostitution, criminal activities, begging, drugs and theft. It was emphasized, that HopeNow is a praiseworthy, innovative and a great example on a preventive initiative, which by few resources and mainly voluntary work is able to avoid further exploitation of vulnerable people, who easily can be exposed to more criminality. HopeNow was rewarded for well structured work with clear methods to help and support trafficked people in both Denmark and other countries, which can be an inspiration for other countries.

The award was given to HopeNow together with 10.000 euro or about DKK 75.000 by the European Crime Prevention Network (EUCPN).
