OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights selects Mercy Obade

HopeNow is proud to announce that Mercy Obade – HopeNow’s Cultural Social Worker – has been chosen as one of 21 survivors to assist the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) in the International Survivors Advisory Council.

Mercy is from Kenya and is a trafficking survivor. Together with HopeNow staff, she has played a central role in allowing the organisation to spread its reach further by having greater access to vulnerable people within the African diaspora – both men and women. Thanks to dedicated staff like her, HopeNow has been better able to identify more individuals working in forced crime, who are vulnerable, exploited and/or trafficked.

The Official Launch of the International Survivors of Trafficking Advisory Council (ISTAC) will be held virtually on January 25, 2021 at 16:00 – 18:00 CET/ 10:00 – 12:00 EST.
